CBN N500k Grants Portal Opens for Graduates & Undergraduates
Are you a student in a Nigerian tertiary institution and looking for a grant? Today, we have good news for you. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has reportedly created grants for graduates and students to reduce unemployment.
In collaboration with Nigerian polytechnics and universities, the Tertiary Institutions Entrepreneurship Program (TIES) harnesses the entrepreneurial potential of Nigerian graduates.
According to CBN, TIES aims to expand access to finance for graduates of Nigerian polytechnics and universities, as well as those with creative entrepreneurial and technological concepts.
The apex Bank said that by focusing on employee development, TIES will address the problem of white-collar job seekers.
According to the CBN, the first batch would receive N150m, followed by N120m for the second batch, N80m for the third batch, N80m for the fourth batch, N80m for the fifth batch, and N50m for the fifth batch. The address is N50m,”
For the two-year regional and national entrepreneurship competitions, Apex Bank said it will set up an organization of experts from the public and private sectors (BoE) to evaluate technological and entrepreneurial ideas contributed by Nigerian universities and polytechnics.
Eligibility for this CBN Grant
Before you apply for this grant, you must be a graduate or undergraduate of Nigeria Polytechnics and Universities:
- First-degree certificate (BSc/HND/ or it is equivalent);
- National Youth Service Certificate (NYSC) discharge or
exemption certificate; - Certificate of Participation issued by polytechnics and universities evidencing entrepreneurship training; and
- Not more than 7 years post-NYSC
